Technical innovation

PET

For Chantovent, environmental protection has always been a priority, which is why the company has invested 500,000 Euros in a PET bottle blowing and bottling line in 2000. Moreover, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of environmental protection amongst both distributors and consumers alike, and the European authorities are encouraging manufacturers and distributors to reduce packaging materials.

The advantages are the following :

  • The material is recyclable
  • The glass-like, sheen and transparency, reassures consumers
  • Rigidity, solidity, impact resistance
  • Gas impermeability
  • Extremely lightness of a bottle (40g), reducing transport costs. For your information, the 1.5 litre PVC bottle weighs 60g and the glass magnum 750g.

Tangential microfiltration

In 2004, Chantovent began operating two tangential microfiltration plants for the preparation of the wine before bottling.
The aims are:
  • to improve the quality of filtration in order to preserve the authenticity of the wines
  • to improve working conditions
  • to improve environmental considerations: removal of filtration sediment residues
