Founded in 1953, CHANTOVENT has been involved in production since 1993. It is the property of the 1700 winegrowers members of a group of wineries, representing 7000 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of 400,000 hectolitres. CHANTOVENT is the largest producer of Vin de Pays des Coteaux de Peyriac, with 90% of the production, and the leading Minervois producer, with 35% of the appellation of the same name.
 JEAN D’ALIBERT group, is currently our major shareholder. It is made up of the Minervois Producer Union, which represents 9 cooperative wineries, 17 Estates and Châteaux, and the Celliers Jean d’Alibert company, a bottling center in the production area, working especially for CHANTOVENT.
Furthermore, we develop a large on-site bottling business. The President of our group is Mr. Michel Agnel.
CHANTOVENT is a small to medium-sized business with a turnover of about 28 million Euros with the following spread:
- 25% export (35 countries)
- 60% in mass-market products
- 15% in traditional channels
Our second shareholder, Groupe Coopératif UCCOAR, distributes nearly one million hectolitres of table wine, Vin de Pays and Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée wine.
Specialist in Languedoc wines, our company strategy is principally to develop strong Vin de Pays, Vin de Cépage and AOC Minervois brands, using a 'Terroir' concept.
Our "LA PAYSE" brand, one of the leading Vin de Pays brands, is available in:
- PET (polyethylene terepthalate)
- 75cl glass bottles
- Bag-in-box.
Our brand activities represent 55% of our turnover, the remaining 45% is distributed between Distributors' own labels and affordable price products.
Within an international market context, we have developed a range of Varietal Wine in line with our "Terroir" strategy.
Our "Prestige de Chantovent" brand, with its Premium Wine positioning, demonstrates our know-how of the "International" Varietal concept.
Our group, deeply rooted in the heart of the Languedoc wine producing area, aims at being a key player for both Languedoc AOC wine production and its distribution.
This is why the group offers a complete range of Languedoc appellations, like a complete Minervois range, from affordable price wines to Estate and Château bottled wines, including Cru La Livinière amongst others.
Anxious to provide our international partners with products with "niche" positionings, we offer them exclusive rights for Vins de Pays de Domaine, "Sélection aux terroirs". These are estates of 15 to 45 hectares with limited production and aging in barrels.
We like to think of ourselves as a simple, friendly, generous company with Mediterranean roots, dedicated to taste.
Our commitment, under the name of "JEAN D'ALIBERT" N°1 Minervois Brand, is to produce aromatic fine wines.
The diversity of our terroirs and grape varieties, combined with controlled vinification, enable us to ensure our customers both consistency in selection, product authenticity, and guaranteed supplies, in line with our brand policy.
